Italian food is served at the British network of casual dining restaurants known as ASK Italian, or just ASK. The franchise was started in 1993 by Adam and Samuel Kaye, and it now has 65 sites throughout the UK. ASK is an acronym for "Authentic Sicilian Kitchen," although it derives from the initials of the company's founders, Adam and Samuel Kaye. Initially listed on the stock exchange, the business changed its status to private in 2004 and then merged with Pizza Express to become Gondola Holdings. Later, it joined the Gondola Group, which Bridgepoint Capital purchased for £250 million in February 2015 along with Zizzi.

ASK Italian completed a redesign in 2010 and hired Theo Randall to serve as their "expert friend." Renowned chef Randall assisted in developing menus and coming up with new dishes for the chain of restaurants. He invested in the Azzurri Group, which owns and operates ASK Italian, in June 2015. In 2008, the chain partnered with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity to raise money for charity by donating £1 for each kids’ menu that was sold during a promotion.

The restaurant has continued to develop its menu and products while concentrating on providing its patrons with genuine Italian food.
