Laithwaites is a family-run wine business with a lengthy history dating back more than 50 years. Tony Laithwaite launched the business after being inspired by his 1960s trips to Bordeaux. The company's philosophy is grounded in simplicity and sincerity, with a focus on providing wine lovers with high-quality wines from committed winemakers. By keeping things simple at every level, they have been able to control expenses while guaranteeing authenticity for every bottle.

The business began operations beneath a railway arch, especially Arch 36 beneath Windsor & Eton Central Station. They rented this space from British Rail for a pittance of £20 a month, and it served as their initial residence, store, venue, and wine theatre. Today, Laithwaites still shares its passion for wine by helping small family vineyards and providing wine lovers with a wide variety of wines from around the globe. They are proud of their dedication to protecting the environment and their efforts to offset delivery emissions via replanting.
